Fallon’s new Budweiser ad. I like it, alcohol is extremely hard to work on. I worked on a Smirnoff brief and found out that is one of those areas where regulations and connotations with alcohol often only leads you down the same path. AMV BBDO’s Surfer ad is a good example but JWT’s Smirnoff ad is a bad example of alcohol branding, the idea might be good but in the land of vodka, purity is not a USP. Fallon here creates something that lives on with the Wazzzuuppp (don’t know how to spell that) tradition of Bud and at the same time takes it to another level of showing the feeling we all know, to share a beer, to drink one together as men. Sophisticated and well produced.
