Yesterday I got my third post over at David Report published, it’s a trying to be thought provoking piece about the value of awards in general and the need for a clear competitive frame so that people knows on what grounds they’re competing. The post focuses on The Brit Insurance Designs of the Year Award where everything from advertising to furniture design is competing against each other. Read it for yourself and please comment if you have any thoughts on the matter.
Events are suddenly filling up my calender. Tonight I’m going to the Typographic Circle event at JWT to listen to Roger Kennedy, Director of Typography and Design at Saatchi & Saatchi in London. Next Wednesday I’m going to V&A for one of their Lunchtime Talks, this one is about Le Corbusier and Baghdad and on next friday I’m organising one of my own when Russell Davies comes to my school to talk about something interesting (email me if you want to come). A week after that, on the 13th of February, I’m going to Coffee Morning at Lantana, a planning breakfast organised by Will and Sam.
